1. The list will never be sold.
We do not sell, rent, lease, license, trade, swap, gift, or otherwise transfer your name or email to any third party for any reason. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to AI training pipelines, not to a buyer if MemeZombie is acquired — in that case, the list is deleted, not transferred. This is a binding promise.
2. What we collect.
- Name (whatever you typed — a pseudonym is fine).
- Email address (used only for new-dump notifications, if you opted in).
- Your votes (which memes you up/down-voted, so you can’t double-vote).
- Memes you submit (image, captions, optional source URL and note — only used to decide whether to include them in a dump).
- Hashed connection identifier on each meme submission. We store
SHA-256(your IP + a server secret), never the IP itself. We can compare future submissions against the same hash for abuse prevention, but we can't reverse the hash back into an IP address. - Aggregate, non-identifying server logs (IP truncated, retained 14 days).
That is the entire list. We do not collect phone, location, contacts, or browsing history.
3. Cookies.
One session cookie to keep you signed in. No tracking pixels. No third-party analytics.
4. Ads.
Ads on this site are contextual, not behavioral. Advertisers do not receive your identity or activity. The ad slot does not set tracking cookies.
5. Deletion.
Visit Account → Delete account, type DELETE, click the button. Your account, name, email, votes, and submissions are removed within seconds. There is no recovery period and no retention.
Separately: if you're banned for abuse, the operator will purge your account and any memes that were approved from your submissions, and add the hashed connection identifier from those submissions to a block list. The block list contains hashes, not IPs, and is kept indefinitely.
6. Children.
This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them.
